Senior Tax and Accounting Specialist

Senior Tax and Accounting Specialist is responsible for supporting the company’s daily accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, and maintaining compliance with internal policies and local accounting standards. This role involves performing detailed financial analyses, preparing reconciliations, assisting with tax filings, and supporting month-end and year-end closing procedures.
Responsibilities
- Daily Accounting Operations Record and process daily financial transactions including invoices, expenses, payments, and receipts.
- Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable sub-ledgers, ensuring accuracy and timely updates.
- Review and verify supporting documents for all accounting entries.
- General Ledger & Reconciliations Maintain the General Ledger and ensure proper posting of all journal entries.
- Prepare and review reconciliations for bank accounts, vendor statements, customer balances, and other GL accounts.
- Identify discrepancies and resolve them promptly.
- Financial Reporting Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS or local GAAP.
- Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, including accruals, amortizations, depreciation, and adjustments.
- Generate management reports such as expense reports, and cash flow summaries.
- Tax, Compliance & Audits Assist in preparing tax declarations (VAT, corporate income tax,withholding tax etc.).
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and accounting standards.
- Coordinate with external and internal auditors by preparing required documents and providing explanations.
- Fixed Assets Maintain the fixed asset register, record additions/disposals, and calculate monthly depreciation.
- Participate in physical inventory and fixed asset verification processes.
- Documentation & Record Management Prepare, organize, and archive accounting documents in accordance with company policies.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure secure handling of financial data.
- Improve and streamline accounting processes for better efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- 3–4 years of experience in accounting and tax roles.
- Strong knowledge of local accounting laws, tax regulations, and IFRS standards.
- Advanced MS Excel
Requirements
- (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, formulas, basic data analysis).
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and analytical thinking.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
- Preferred
Requirements
- ACCA, CIMA, or other professional accounting certifications (completed or in progress).
- Experience working in audit firms.
- Strong English
